Herman Hicks

Superintendent Herman Hicks is the pastor of Greater Pentecostal Church of God in Christ, in Wichita, Kansas. In June 2021, he was appointed by the Presiding Bishop of the Church of God in Christ, Bishop J. Drew Sheard, as the Assistant Commissioner/Endorser, Military and Institutional Chaplaincy for the Church of God in Christ. He is the 1st Administrative Assistant to the Jurisdictional Prelate, Bishop Mark L. Gilkey, Kansas Southwest Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. Additionally, he serves as the District Superintendent for the James Watson District (formally the Wichita District). He is the former Vice Chairman of the Church of God in Christ (COGIC) International Men's Ministry, and COGIC Men Perfecting men Conference.
Our Pastor's ministry has touch the lives of thousand of people of all ages, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds. During his 38 years in Ministry he has served as pastor of three churches, including Maranatha Tabernacle of Praise COGIC in Mackenbach, Germany (where he was one of the founders). He is committed to equipping the members of Greater Pentecostal to do Kingdom Work beyond the four wall of our facilities.
After 25 years on active duty in the United States Air Force, he retired from the military in the rank of Colonel. His final military position was Commander, 22nd Mission Support Group at McConnell Air Force Base, KS. He was responsible for overseeing the support for over 4,000 civilian and military personnel, an annual budget of $98 Million, and $416 Million in infrastructure.
Pastor Hicks is originally from Greenville, Mississippi. He completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Mississippi in 1980, and a Master's of Political Science/Criminal Justice degree from the University of South Dakota in 1982. He received a Honorary Doctorate of Divinity Degree from St Thomas Christian College. He and his wife, Lady Anadina Hicks have four adults children and one grandson.
